Mickey Joe�s Relatively Improved Default Resource Pack 1.12.2/1.11.2 for Minecraft was made initially just for personal use. At one point it was just a Reddit post with a screenshot ended up with a surprising amount of satisfying feedback, so the work turned into an actual Pack. It has many advantages and upgrades from the default textures itself, creating a new style of gameplay while keeping the traditional game for those who picky about putting a different type of art-style into their game.
